Hey ladies, and welcome to my very first blog post.
Well, actually that’s not entirely true. I have blogged before, but I simply couldn’t find the time and motivation to continue. But after some much needed R&R and a redesigned site I’m back with loads of ideas, determined to help and inspire you all!
I will soon be posting about how I found more motivation in my everyday life, and how you can too. Click here, if you would like to check that out.
Anyways, let’s get back to business!
When It’s cold outside it’s much harder to combine outfits, and we often end up trotting to work or school looking like marshmallows.
Here you will find three tips to help you keep looking stylish and put together throughout these colder months. I know spring is dawning upon us, but if you live in a cold climate like me, it’s probably not getting significantly warmer anytime soon (and I’m not quite ready to pack my gorgeous coats away yet either).
My first tip is ALWAYS to take your coat into account when planning your outfit. On these chillier days, your coat is the most visible thing on your person, and it’s such a shame to just throw a plain black coat over your beautiful outfit! Find something that goes with the colours and style of your wardrobe.
As you can see I have opted for two very neutral coats this winter (both the white and the brown coat are from River Island), and a green coat from Ted Baker, when I’m feeling a bit more frisky.
The second tip is to layer up!
It’s such a shame that you can’t wear your favourite skirt or dress just because it’s a little cold outside, isn’t it? Well, it doesn’t have to be that way. I’ve found that thermals are a great way of looking chic, but still staying toasty warm. Just slip on some thermal leggings and a thermal top, and then you have a base for building your stylish outfit. Of course, if you’re completely snowed in, you might want to consider proper trousers!
Over-the-knee boots are also a great way of wearing a skirt during winter. Even though it may look freezing cold, it really isn’t, cause I’m wearing my thermals underneath!
My third tip is…
ACCESSORIZE OUT THE YING-YANG
Sweaters are my best friends during winter, but a pair of jeans and a sweater can easily look dull and boring. I have found that with a few jewellery pieces you will be looking stylish and polished in no time. My personal favourite is my rose gold Monica Vinader necklace because it’s the perfect length to wear on top of sweaters, even if they have a big fluffy roll-neck. I’m also a huge fan of the Pandora stacking rings because you can mix and match them to your outfit. Mine are silver and, yes, you guessed it, rose gold.
I hope you found some of these tips helpful, and I would love to know some of your cold-weather tips in the comments! I hope you have a wonderful day and hopefully this will help make the rest of February a little less gloomy.
Until next time xxx
